Q. Are Brink's Pest Control specialists knowledgeable and certified ?

A. Absolutely, our pest control specialists are extremely knowledgeable, having seen and treated every common type of New Jersey pest. Each specialist is individually licensed in the state of New Jersey as a pest control applicator. They are required to obtain a state certification and to take continuing education hours to maintain their New Jersey pest certification. In addition, as a business Brink’s Pest Control is licensed and insured to carry out effective pest treatment services.

Q. How long has Brink's Pest Control been in business?

A. Brink's Pest Control has been in business for over 25 years. Brink's is a family owned and operated business started by Ron Brink to provide homeowners with the most effective pest control treatments, while also providing outstanding customer service.

Q. Do you recommend a protection plan even though you already treated my home for pests?

A. Even though we have found a solution for your current pest problem, we highly recommend our Pest Prevention Plan since pests can always setup a new colony or temporarily move away from your home and find their way back. Ask your Brink’s pest control specialist about protection plan options.

Q. Are the pest control treatment materials you use safe for kids and pets?

A. Safety is a top priority at Brink’s. Rest assured that all the treatment materials we use are regulated by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and safe around humans and pets. Depending on the treated pest and materials used, there’s a possibility the Brink’s specialist will recommend that children and pets not visit the treated area for a specified time as a precaution.

Q. I fear my home may be infested with termites. Does Brink’s offer a plan that will give me peace of mind?

A. Definitely. Brink’s Pest Control not only provides termite inspection services, we also offer termite detection systems to monitor for termite activity in a chemical-free fashion. Our Brink’s technicians use these detection systems to check for further termite evidence and if there is, we will treat the issue promptly.

Q. What are some things I can do outside of my house to keep pests away?
A. First, you can inspect and/or seal any cracks and holes outside your home. Make sure any vents are screened and gaps are sealed around windows and doors. Check the perimeter of your home for excessive moisture (i.e. leaky faucets) and anything that may allow moisture to pool around your home. Also, eliminate debris from gutters as that also provides an attraction for pests. You should also trim tree branches and shrubbery around your home, especially if they touch the structure. Finally, it’s important to store firewood and other wood at least 20 feet away from your home.

Q. What can a homeowner do to prevent termites?
A. The basic rule of thumb about termites is that they thrive in moisture. There are different ways you can eliminate any moisture around the foundation of your home. You can divert water away with properly functioning downspouts, gutters and splash blocks. Also try to reduce humidity in small crawl spaces with proper ventilation. Watch for shrubs, vines and other vegetation that is growing over and onto the home and covering vents. Remove any old tree stumps and roots around and beneath your home. Finally, and most importantly, eliminate any wood contact with the soil.
